Born in the Kintampo Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana, West Africa in 1985, at just 30 years young, Ti Jay is regarded as a leading catalyst for excellence in contemporary African art.

This contemporary African artist is formally named Ahmed Tijani but signs his paintings by his nickname "Ti Jay." At present, he lives in Ghana's capital of Accra, close to his large family of his Mother and Father, and 14 siblings. Of them all Ti Jay is one of the five youngest.

Ti Jay had a good childhood growing up and did very well in his academics all throughout his primary and secondary years. Having done so, later he attended Ghanatta College of Art and Design. In 2001, while attending the College, Ti Jay was awarded as the year's Best Artist. Around the same time, he practiced his fashion interest at the Ghana and Berry's Fashion House.

Ti Jay is also the co-founder of the business Gold Coast Clothing and Art Promotions. Being so, he has designed clothes for celebrities and corporate institutions such as Fidelity Bank and the Pan-African Forum.

Ti Jay describes himself as modest, but also as having a keen mind, especially for noticing detail and nonverbal communication, observing all the while being set at a quiet space apart from others. Though he makes haste when establishing a new relationship, once he is in one he says he is extremely dedicated to the friends he has and partnerships he obtains.

Surprisingly, what gets this African artist to paint are clouds that are bright white contrasted by areas that expose much wet mud and terrain. HIs personal inspirations for his creativity in making African art are Michelangelo, fellow Ghanaian Ofei Dako and Kofi Dawson.
