“Natural World” represented my exploration of new natural materials to represent scenes in daily life. I
introduced bright dyes and tie-dying techniques, along with the new fibers. This exploration of colors and
materials has created a dramatically new body of work.

The Art and Entertainment designation in downtown Silver Spring has played a large roll in the revitalization of
this area. I created collages depicting images of places in the city to illustrate how the community has made

From a grant provided by the Puffin Foundation, I created works that focused on the architectural,
mathematical and artistic contributions of the Islamic world, diversity in the Islamic world and the Muslim
woman.

For this exhibition, I explored body art globally as a means of expression, for incorporation in rituals, celebrations and medicinal or healing purposes.
