True African Art .com met Nigerian born Ben Adedipe online through a request for him to be on our website. After several conversations, we placed his paintings on our Facebook Page and eventually purchased one for us to own and sell from our location in New York. That painting is called "Facts of Life" and to the left is its picture with Ben standing by it, showing its massive dimensions. Go to our 25 Other Artists Store Page to purchase this or any painting on our website. Ben currently lives in Ghana and previously lived in Europe. Before all of this, Ben had formal education in art at Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria at the Department of Industrial Design. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Design in 1983. Recently, Ben held an exhibition at the Gallery of Novotel Hotels, a 4-star hotel in the Accra city center of Ghana with a series of paintings he calls "Aspects of Life." Ben Adedipe is married to Josephine, and together they have two daughters, Rhema and Grace. We are proud to feature Ben on True African Art .com.

Maryann's sole painting "Blue Day" is on the right and can be purchase on her African Art Store Page.
Another woman artist who has her own page on True African Art.com is Gathinja. One other page belongs to Sarah Shiundu. You can find a few paintings by Anne Berenge and Jane Wanjeri on their Store Page, but their artworks have already sold.
JOHN NDUNGU
Biography and Video Interview
(John's paintings are now all sold)
John Ndungu has painted for eight years professionally. Most of his works are on canvas. He has been interested in painting since childhood. He went to primary and high school in the 1980's and 1990's in Nyeri Central Kenya. In College, John Ndungu studied Interior Design. Since that time Ndungu has had others jobs, but African art paintings have always pulled his choice of profession.

This African artist exquisitely paints on canvas with the less known medium of charcoal. His results are beautiful and really gives one the feeling of being in the night. John says that his paintings on canvas represent the work and grace of the revered African woman.
'Babu' means 'Grandfather.' We had two of this African artist's paintings. We wish we had gotten more, but our circumstances were quick.

I am 51 years old, married, and have three children." Paul's artworks are all sold but can still be viewed on his Store Page.
The Rarity of GEORGE NGARUYA
George Ngaruya hails from Kenya, East Africa and is an experienced artist of 15 years. What separates Ngaruya from the rest is that he does not paint for the tourist market. He paints rather in a straightforward way that deliberately rejects sophisticated techniques and represents a bold characterization in bright colors and an abstract perspective that is not tame.
Ngaruya is a self taught artist, but remains in an underground group of self-organized artists that maintain a highly personal and non-commercial style that formally trained artists find difficult to achieve. One of his paintings is on the right and the rest are on this category's African Art Store Page.
